The German Shepherd Dog is the most versatile working dog breed known to Mankind. When the breed was developed in Germany over 100 years ago, a breed standard was set forth by the German Breed Club, the Verein fur Deutche Schaferhunde, to define and preserve the most suitable mental and anatomical characteristics for future breeding. The German Shepherd Dog is the preferred breed for Search and Rescue, Guide Dogs for the physically and mentally challenged; Police K-9, Border Patrol and Bomb and Narcotics detection work; as well as for the family protection; jogging and biking and couch potato companionship.
The German Shepherd Dog of America, Working Dog Association, sponsors a German Style Breed and Performance Show each year. This North American Sieger Show includes GSD’s from all over the world in addition to the USA. This year, we are proud to be at Fairplex, returning to Southern California after nearly a decade! GSDCA-WDA and the Fairplex welcomes you to NASS 2009!
