Pomona, CA, Oct. 3, 2012 - Celebrate Bavarian beer and brats without a passport as Fairplex brings Oktoberfest to Southern California for three weekends in October. Guests can party like a German rock star with Oktoberfest’s entertainment, including several tribute bands as well as traditional music and games.
The fun that began in September with the L.A. County Fair continues German-style as the Oktoberfest festival takes place over a 16-day period – Oct. 12-14, 19-21 & 26-28 – during which guests can enjoy over 1.5 million gallons of beer, partake in a variety of German food and celebrate the Bavarian culture.
Traditional Oktoberfest and wheat beers will flow like the first kegs tapped in the late 1800s. Domestic brews and specialty cocktails will also be poured, for all tastes and palates to cheer Prost!
Come for the beer, stay for the food. Fairplex’s Oktoberfest cuisine would make Mad King Ludwig mad all over again – with hunger. From a variety of Bratwursts with Sauerkraut to Schweinehaxe (crispy hock ham) to Schmolzkuchen (warm brown sugar and cinnamon donut holes), German food in America has never tasted so good.
While the traditional sounds of oom pa pa music bring a cultural flair, Fairplex’s Oktoberfest brings an international rockin’ flavor with popular tribute bands the Sounds of Santana, Queen Nation and DSB (Journey), making it truly a Rocktoberfest.
Oktoberfest rocks for ages 21 and over Fridays and Saturdays from 6 p.m. to midnight, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays. Sundays are fun for all ages. Tickets are just $5. Visit oktoberfestatfairplex.com for more information and to purchase tickets.
