Some of the biggest Funk & R&B artists will perform on stage June 1st 3pm at Fairplex, 1101 W. McKinley Avenue, Pomona, Ca in a collaboration effort to raise money for National College Resources Foundation. National College Resources Foundation is a non-profit organization with the mission of curtailing the high school dropout and increasing enrollment to college among underserved and underrepresented students. The Live 2013 West Coast Funk Festival not only serves as the largest funk festival in the southland, it also kicks off Black Music Month featuring SOS Band, Dazz Band, Lakeside and Zapp, with appearances by some of the hottest stars on stage, television and film. Concert goers will enjoy an outdoor, lawn setting event with music and food for the soul. Doors open at 1pm.
West Coast Funk Festival Live is an annual event that brings a day full of soulful Funk music, positive energy and unity to the community. It will be themed as the biggest party with ""Live"" music of the year enhanced with a DJ spinning great oldies but goodies dance music. There is a VIP section equipped with a lounge atmosphere and special accommodations. Patrons can relax in an open lawn setting with blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy funk classics. Proceeds benefit the National College Resources Foundation.
