Historic Arcadia Station
The Arcadia Station is another piece of Fairplex history, built in 1895, it was moved to Fairplex in 1969. The station complements the historic train exhibit , open fee of charge to the public one weekend a month. The trains and station have been the subject of movies and filming for a variety of programming.
The historic train exhibit is located near the Gate 17 entrance. It is the only place in the world to see both the largest steam engine and the largest diesel locomotive ever to ride the rails. The Union Pacificís 594-ton Big Boy 4014 steam-powered engine shares the spotlight with the Union Pacific Centennial DD40X diesel-powered locomotive, which measures nearly 100 feet in length.
