The West Coast Sports Collectors Expo is coming to Fairplex for the first time, and it has some of the biggest names in sports coming with it, including Cy Young winner and former L.A. Dodger great Orel Hersheiser, who is making his first Southern California sports show appearance in almost 20 years. Other greats include Frank Robinson, Dick Butkus and Lawrence Taylor, making his first appearance.

THE ART OF TEQUILA - FESTIVAL TO SPOTLIGHT TEQUILA CULTURE
With a history that dates back to pre-Hispanic times more than 1,500 years ago, there isn’t a drink that has produced more legends and myths than tequila. From its derivation from the blue agave plant to its place in the lore of the Mexican Revolution, there is much speculation on its origin and tradition. This and more will be explored as Mexico’s most famous export is spotlighted during the Los Angeles Tequila Festival at Fairplex on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 19 and 20.

BUYERS INVEST IN YOUTH AT JUNIOR LIVESTOCK AUCTION
A total of 172 prize-winning market livestock raised by 4-H and Grange members, Future Farmers of America, college students and other youth involved in agriculture programs throughout California were sold off during the annual Junior Livestock Auction on Saturday, Sept. 24 at the L.A. County Fair in Pomona, which ran Sept. 9 to Oct. 2. The auction annually marks the culmination of a yearlong project for youngsters learning about small business enterprise and livestock care.

WINNER ANNOUNCED IN MUMMY WRAP - OCT. 2, 2005
ALL WRAPPED UP . . . Frankie Aguilar, 4, of Chino and his aunt, Athena Nunez of Ontario, won first place in the Scott Tissue Mummy Wrap, held Oct. 2 at the L.A. County Fair. The duo beat out ten other teams to take the blue ribbon.
