WINNER ANNOUNCED IN TEXAS DONUT EATIN' CONTEST
GIANT DONUTS- Kylie Baumer, 9, of La Sierra, won first in the Texas Donut Eatin’ Contest, held Sept. 14 at the L.A. County Fair. Baumer was able to eat her giant donut, without using her hands, faster than any other competitor.

WINNER ANNOUNCED IN MARSHMALLOW STUFFING CONTEST - YOUTH DIVISION
SUGAR RUSH – Rachel Updegraff, 9, of Lancaster, won first place in the 9 and under division of the marshmallow stuffing contest held Sept. 11 at the L.A. County Fair. Out of 5 contestants Updegraff was able to stuff more marshmallows in her mouth than any other competitor.

WINNER ANNOUNCED IN MARSHMALLOW STUFFING CONTEST - 10 TO 14 YEAR OLD DIVISION
TALKING WITH YOUR MOUTH FULL – Cameron Rausch, 14, of Costa Mesa, won first place in the 10-14 year old division of the marshmallow stuffing contest held Sept. 11 at the L.A. County Fair. Out of 15 contestants Rausch was able to stuff more marshmallows in his mouth, winning with a grand total of 16 marshmallows.

WINNER ANNOUNCED IN THE MARSHMALLOW STUFFING CONTEST - ADULT DIVISION
CHUBBY BUNNY – Carson Bennitt, 16, of Claremont, won first place in the 15 and older division of the marshmallow stuffing contest held Sept. 11 at the L.A. County Fair. Out of 16 contestants Bennitt was able to stuff more marshmallows in his mouth, winning with a grand total of 15 marshmallows.

ANNUAL QUILT AWARD GIVEN AT L.A. COUNTY FAIR
Lomita resident Anne Copeland was bestowed with the Gloria Molina Special Achievement Award in Quilting at the L.A. County Fair. Award namesake Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina presented Copeland with the crystal trophy during a special ceremony Sept. 11.

CHEFS WIN BIG AT L.A. COUNTY FAIR COMPETITION
Patrick Browne, executive chef at Lasher’s in Long Beach, and Gregory Paul, a sous chef at L’Orangerie in Los Angeles, won the top prizes Sept. 11 in the finals of the L.A. County Fair’s inaugural Chefs on the Rise competition. Browne won in the white wine category and Paul in the red wine. Each received a gold medal and a $1,000 cash prize.

WATCH HER GO…Giced Angeles, 9, of West Covina, won first place in the nine and under division of the hula hoop contest held Sept. 10 at the L.A. County Fair. Out of 20 participants Angeles was able to keep her hoop up longer than any other competitor.

HULA GIRL…Lisett Legarreta, 23, of Montebello, won first place in the ten and older division of the hula hoop contest held Sept. 10 at the L.A. County Fair. Out of 20 participants Legarreta was able to keep her hoop up longer than any other competitor.

Marshmallow - Michael Sirb, 54, of Alta Dena won first place in the adult marshmallow eating contest Sept. 9 at the L.A. County Fair. He won by stuffing a whopping 9 marshmallows in his mouth.
