MEMORIAL AUCTION FOR NHRA DRIVER TO BE HELD AT POMONA RACEWAY
The Darrell Russell Memorial Auction will be held Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Hospitality Village at Pomona Raceway. The silent and live auctions will benefit the Darrell Russell Memorial Fund, established after Top Fuel driver Russell’s untimely death in June. Organizers Larry Dixon, a two-time Top Fuel champion, and his wife, Allison, have lined up a great selection of auction items.

Attending the 2005 L.A. County Fair just got easier. The Los Angeles County Fair Association has announced the addition of one more weekend to the annual September event making it an 18-day Fair.

WINCHELLS DONUT EATING CHAMPION
Rich Le Fevre, 60, of Las Vegas stands at a modest 5 feet 6 inches and 139 pounds, and is proving that size does not matter.
Le Fevre claimed the Winchell’s World Donut-Eating Championship title Sept. 22 at the L.A. County Fair. Contestants included professional eaters, and college students.

CALIFORNIAS HERITAGE SQUARE OFFERS A PLETHORA OF ACTIVITIES FOR ALL AGES AT THE L.A. COUNTY FAIR
From gold mining to brick making to a trip around the world, the activities abound at one of the hottest spots at the 2004 L.A. County Fair. California’s Heritage Square, one of the Fair’s 11 fun-filled “neighborhoods,” will have visitors take a step back in time and experience life in California’s early days. New this year, California’s Heritage Square will also host America’s Kids/Ed Expo, an exhibit geared toward youngsters and school-aged children. The Fair runs Sept. 10-26.
