THE DOORS OF THE 21ST CENTURY TO PERFORM AT THE 2004 L.A. COUNTY FAIR

Come on over to our house on Saturday, Sept. 11, and be prepared to rock. The L.A. County Fair is pleased to announce that The Doors of the 21st Century will be performing at 8 p.m. on the Los Angeles Newspaper Group Grandstand Stage as part of the Fair’s End of Summer Concert Series.

CAVALCADE OF HORSES OFFERS FAIRGUESTS A VARIETY OF SHOWS

Many national and international participants will showcase numerous breeds of horses during the L. A. County Fair’s 17 days. Horses will be featured in horse shows and special demonstrations all day and evening at the horse show arena. The Fair runs Sept. 10-26.

THE ISLEY BROTHERS CONCERT AT THE L.A. COUNTY FAIR CANCELLED

Fair officials announced today that The Isley Brothers concert, which was scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 11, has been cancelled due to the illness of vocalist Ronald Isley.

Each September, since way back in 1922, a tradition as regular as the sparrows returning to Capistrano occurs in Pomona. It’s the L.A. County Fair, a post-Labor Day ritual that makes an annual appearance for 17 days and provides one big party before saying goodbye to summer.

SENIOR DAYS TO TAKE PLACE AT L.A. COUNTY FAIR

If you’re 60 years of age or older, there’s something special about Tuesdays at the 2004 L.A. County Fair. Seniors will have their own days on Sept. 14 and 21. Both days have been designated as Senior Days at the Fair and will offer special admission prices, information, entertainment and contests just for seniors. The Fair runs Sept. 10-26.

TOWER OF POWER WILL PERFORM AT THE 2004 L.A. COUNTY FAIR

Tower of Power, the band that has delighted fans for more than three decades, returns to the L.A. County Fair at 8 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 19, as part of the End of Summer Concert Series. Known for its incredible horn section and memorable lyrics with an eclectic mix of jazz, funk, rock and old school soul music, the band is a Fair favorite.

There’s nothing ordinary about Building 4 at the L.A. County Fair. The enormous hall, which once long ago was called The Agricultural Pavilion, has been home to elaborate fruit displays, bees and honey exhibits, and wine and jazz ensembles.

WAR BRINGS MULTIFACETED SOUND TO L.A. COUNTY FAIR

Their sound captured the heart and soul of America’s streets. From the late ‘60s all the way to the present day, Los Angeles-based WAR played the music that made people dance and think. Fusing rock, Latin rhythms, funk, blues, jazz and soul into a distinctive sound all their own, WAR, the self-described Afro-Cuban-rock-jazz-blues band, was a righteous force coming straight out of “the neighborhood.”
