LOS ANGELES COUNTY FAIR ASSOCIATION NAMES NEW DIRECTOR
Bernard Bernstein is the newest addition to the Los Angeles County Fair Association’s board of directors. An Association member since 1997, the new title will take effect in November 2004. Director Fred Freehling will assume the title of director emeritus.

CAMP WILDERNESS TAKES FAIRGUESTS TO THE GREAT OUTDOORS

CANINE DOG SHOW DELIGHTS AUDIENCES AT 2004 L.A. COUNTY FAIR
Dog lovers of all ages will be given a special treat in Hidden Meadows Park at this year’s L.A. County Fair, which runs Sept. 10-26. The Extreme Canine Stunt Dog Show features a collection of some of the world’s most talented canines. The acrobatic canines have been featured on such shows as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Animal Planet’s Pet Stars and the Outdoor Life Network. The show promises to be highly entertaining, informative and educational.

BUDWEISER CLYDESDALES MAKE APPEARANCE AT THE L.A. COUNTY FAIR
The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales, representatives of Anheuser-Busch for more than 70 years, are scheduled to make several appearances showcasing their tremendous strength, precision, grace and beauty during the L.A. County Fair, scheduled for Sept 10-26. The massive animals will appear during the races for Fairguests at the Fairplex Park Budweiser Grandstand.

L.A. COUNTY FAIR BANNER PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM PROVIDES BUSINESSES WITH AFFORDABLE ADVERTISING
For the eighth year, the L.A. County Fair is providing businesses with an opportunity to advertise during the Fair and two months prior. Through the Street Banner Program, businesses can purchase an L.A. County Fair banner to hang on a light post in the city of their choice. The business name or logo is displayed on a four-color, two-sided banner with the dates of the Fair. Purchasers can choose one of four farm animals to be featured on their banner.

L.A. COUNTY FAIR COMMUNITY DAYS HONOR LOCAL CITIES
Every city is special in some way, whether it’s the equestrians of San Dimas or the bustling college community of Claremont. It is the unique aspects of cities that the L.A. County Fair will salute during Community Days. Eighteen local cities will be honored every weekday of the Fair, Sept. 10-26.

CRUISE INTO THUNDER ALLEY AT THE 2004 L.A. COUNTY FAIR
Thunder Alley at the L.A. County Fair will have Fairguests reminiscing about nights cruising down the boulevard. Classic and restored cars are featured in weekday car cruises, music is blaring at Garage Stage and all roads lead to the historic Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum. The Fair is scheduled Sept. 10-26.

Speeding through tight turns and high drops, tumbling and swinging, and covered in bright lights, carnival rides are loud and fast, and safe. According to statistics released from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) mobile-amusement rides are one of the safest recreational activities.

BOAT RACERS HONORARY AWARDS CEREMONY TO BE HELD JUNE 12
For the second year, the Spring Boat Show at the Fairplex in Pomona will be joined by the Boat Racers Boat Show honoring some of the sport’s greatest boats and racers from the 1930s, 40s and 50s up to present day. The 18th Annual Spring Boat Show will run from June 10-13, and the Boat Racers awards ceremony will be held June 12 at noon.
