FAIRPLEX HOSTS ROSE PARADE PARTICIPANTS
The road to Pasadena begins in Pomona as Fairplex hosts two of the major acts in the 119th Tournament of Roses Parade. Up With People and the Missouri State University’s marching band are both lodging at the Fairplex Sheraton hotel and rehearsing their exciting Rose Parade performances at Fairplex.
Up with People was founded on the principle of using music as a way to communicate with and inspire people. In each city the cast visits, participants perform in a vibrant and moving musical stage show that brings the community together, highlighting local partnering organizations and sparking people to action in meeting the needs of their communities, countries and the world. The troupe will be staying at Fairplex Sheraton beginning Dec. 28. On Dec. 30, at 5:30 p.m., Up With People will be doing its final rehearsal, including an abbreviated pyrotechnics show on the grounds here at Fairplex.
The Missouri State University Pride Marching Band also will practice its Rose Parade performance at Fairplex. The Pride has established an enviable reputation that has rapidly spread throughout the nation for its sound, explosive drum line, and crack-precision flag line.
