CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER RECEIVES $50,000 GRANT FROM LUDWICK FOUNDATION

The sing-song recitation of ABCs and 123s that mellifluously flows through the playground at the Fairplex Child Development Center will soon ring from children playing on newly resurfaced yardscape, thanks to a $50,000 grant from the Ludwick Family Foundation.
The renowned center, on the grounds of Fairplex in Pomona, received the gift in November, and will put it toward capital renovations that include remodeling the rubber surfacing on the playground and upgrading the laundry facilities, kitchen and staff lounge.
“We’re so thankful to the Ludwick Foundation,” said Holly Reynolds, the CDC’s director. “Each of the areas planned for renovation will increase the quality of care for our children, their families and our teachers.”
Founded in 1990 by Arthur and Sarah Ludwick, the Ludwick Family Foundation is a philanthropic organization committed to assisting a broad array of groups that are working to make a positive difference in the world.
“We are pleased to award a grant to the Fairplex Child Development Center as we are especially fond of the great work the Center does nurturing youngsters and preparing them for their first educational steps,” said Mr. Ludwick.
The Child Development Center is a private, non-profit center operated by the Los Angeles County Fair Association in alliance with the University of La Verne. In accord with its mission, the Center is committed to providing the highest quality early childhood education program for children 8 weeks to 6 years old, offering a safe and nurturing environment while promoting the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of young children.
