FAIRPLEX CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER RECEIVES $200,000 FROM BANK OF AMERICA
Center is named a 2007 Neighborhood Excellence Initiative award winner
In recognition of its commitment and leadership in the Inland Empire community, Bank of America awarded the Fairplex Child Development Center a $200,000 grant through the company’s Neighborhood Excellence Initiative awards, presented Nov. 8 at B of A’s annual Celebrating Excellence in our Neighborhoods ceremony held at the Riverside Convention Center.
“Bank of America is proud to recognize the outstanding work and commitment of the Fairplex Child Development Center and to support its efforts to provide a nurturing learning environment for children and families in our community,” said Al Arguello, Inland Empire Market President.
The Center was founded in 1980 with the mission to provide the highest quality, safe, nurturing, educational environment where diverse children, families and adults come together to learn and grow. It serves nearly 200 children from ages 8 weeks to 6 years with specially designed infant, toddler and preschool classrooms and is all inclusive, offering programs for children with special needs and learning disabilities. The Center formed a partnership with the University of La Verne in 1991, designating the CDC as a laboratory school and hands-on training site for ULV students.
“The Bank of America grant is a huge benefit to helping us take the next step in our development and building our future,” said Holly Reynolds, CDC director. “The partnership with B of A helps us go beyond what we could do by ourselves, while investing in the future leaders of our community.”
Bank of America’s Neighborhood Excellence Initiative recognizes, nurtures and rewards nonprofit organizations, local heroes and student leaders helping to enrich and improve communities.
