FAIRPLEX ANNOUNCES A TRIO OF DIRECTORS Fairplex promises guests a world-class experience, a commitment that starts at home with a strong and goal-driven staff ready to deliver on that promise into the New Year and beyond. Moving forward, the association announces the appointments of three staff directors. Michelle DeMott has been promoted to director of marketing and communications with a bead on development and implementation of advertising, promotional, public relations/communications and diversity markets activities at Fairplex. She joined Fairplex in 1998 and has been part of the management team since 2001. DeMott resides in Claremont with her husband, Brian, and two children. Scott Kelly is now director of community and government relations. He will work with the Fair’s established community groups and be closely aligned with the organization’s outside affiliations both locally and regionally. Kelly has been at Fairplex since 1998, initially as advertising and promotions manager. Kelly is a resident of Claremont. Kathy Wadham has been named director of creative planning. She has been the creative force behind the diverse, educational and entertaining programming that magically appears each September in a number of areas around the 543-acre panorama including America’s Kids, Winter Wonderland, The Village on Broadway, Dairy Products, Education Expo, Garden Railroad, Flower & Garden Pavilion, FairView Farms, Kountry Kritters, Millard Sheets Center for the Arts, Thunder Alley, Eco Now! and more. She adds brand development, entertainment, invention of new business and fair innovation. Wadham started at Fairplex in 1994. She resides in La Verne with her husband Alan.
