DERBY BREWFEST, SATELLITE WAGERING AND ROCKIN’ AT FAIRPLEX PARK
If you like a day packed with a variety of activities, pony up. Fairplex Park presents simulcast wagering on the most exciting two minutes in sports, the 134th Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 3. This isn’t just a horse race, it’s an experience, and Fairplex Park has your ticket, and then some. Fairplex Park’s Derby Brewfest will make its debut with more than 40 tap beers available for tasting at a charge of $5 each. Rounding out a day at the Park is a free dynamic live performance by rockers The Deadly Syndrome. The Deadly Syndrome’s hits include singles “Wolves in the Garden” and “Winter in You.” The quartet released their first album The Ortolan in 2007 and enjoys playing to sold-out dates. Regional alternative rock radio station Indie 103.1 will be on site with live remotes from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and The Deadly Syndrome will perform following the 3:30 p.m. running of the Derby. For fans of any one of the day’s programming, it is a dream day. Fairplex Park has three big events. Satellite wagering opens at 7:30 a.m. and Brewfest at 11 a.m. There is a $5 admission charge to the facility. Parking is $9 at Gate 17 on Fairplex Dr. Fairplex is home of the L.A. County Fair.
