HISTORY The Fair evolved from a commercial-industrial show first held along the Southern Pacific railroad siding in downtown Pomona in 1921. It was so successful, the local businessmen who produced it launched the inaugural L.A. County Fair in October 1922.
LOCATION Approximately 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles and 10 miles west of Ontario International Airport. Two blocks north of San Bernardino Freeway (10). Accessible from Fairplex Drive, White or Garey avenues from the San Bernardino Freeway (10) and from the Fruit Avenue and Foothill Boulevard exits on the 210 freeway.

Opening Weekend With the purchase of a $17 adult Fair admission ticket Saturday, Sept. 6, or Sunday, Sept. 7, a bounce-back coupon for a free admission on any Wednesday or Thursday of the Fair and a coupon for Buy One-Get One Free on all fountain beverages (excluding milk, beer or sport bottle purchases), will be given to each adult, good for use that day.
Advance-Group Sales General admission any-day adult tickets are available for $10 and children's any-day (ages 6-12) tickets for $6, with a minimum order of 20 adult general admission tickets. Tickets may be ordered on consignment with a minimum order of 100 adult general admission tickets. Each adult and child group ticket comes with an exclusive unlimited- ride carnival wristband offer (purchase required, restrictions apply). Wristbands are $35 and must be purchased before 9 p.m., available for use until 11 p.m. weekdays; must be purchased before 4 p.m., available for use until 7 p.m. weekends. With purchase of the unlimited- ride carnival wristband, group sales customers also receive a Smart Card good for any two midway carnival games (up to a $10 value). Wristbands must be purchased at any designated carnival wristband redemption kiosk.
American Red Cross The American Red Cross and the L.A. County Fair have formed a partnership again in 2008. A special admission coupon good for a $2 discount on adult one-day admission (up to 2 adults) is being distributed at various functions and through the mail to more than 200,000 American Red Cross donors. The L.A. County Fair will donate $2 to the American Red Cross for every coupon that is redeemed. For the first time a blood drive will be held in conjunction with the Fair, Tuesday, Sept. 9. Since the Fair is closed Tuesdays, the Sheraton Fairplex hotel is the site of the drive. Participants giving the precious pint will receive free Fair admission for Wednesday, Sept. 10, appropriately A Day for Heroes.
AT&T Any Day Admission Tickets Come to any AT&T store beginning Aug. 1 to purchase admission tickets for just $10 for adults and $6 for ages 6-12. Each AT&T Adult and Child any-day admission ticket comes with an exclusive unlimited ride carnival wristband offer (purchase required, restrictions apply). Wristbands are $35 and must be purchased before 9 p.m., good until 11 p.m. weekdays; must be purchased before 4 p.m., available for use until 7 p.m. weekends. Children Children ages 6-12 are admitted to the Fair on weekends for $12 and for $7 Wednesdays through Fridays. Group sales tickets for ages 6-12 are just $6. Children ages 5 and younger are admitted free every day. Ages 6-12 Free Fridays with a paid adult.
College Days Celebrate Thursdays throughout the Fair. Admission is just $5 for college students with proper identification.
A Day for Heroes On Wednesday, Sept. 10, active military, reserves, police, fire and paramedics, with ID, along with one guest, can attend the Fair for $1, which will be donated to the local and national disaster relief fund of the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross disaster relief fund will also receive $1 from each adult admission to the Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 10.
Day At The Races Value-packed weekend, weekday and VIP packages for groups of four or more. The packages include admission, seating and lunch buffet on the Veranda over looking the first turn, or box seating at the finish line, Winners Circle photo, race named in honor of your group and more.
