Tickets to the FMX season-ending event include Live Concert
LOS ANGELES (September 11, 2008) – Action Sports fans are in for an added treat when they attend ASA Entertainment’s (ASA) 2008 LG World Championships of Freestyle Motocross on September 27th at Fairplex in Pomona at the L.A. County Fair. In addition to seeing the Top 12 freestyle motocross (FMX) athletes in the world battling it out for the most prestigious FMX title in the sport, fans will also be entertained by musical group FILTER. Featuring Richard Patrick, formerly of Nine Inch Nails, FILTER will perform live on the Maxell Music Stage for event fans prior to the FMX competition starting at 7:00 p.m. An event ticket, which can be purchased for as little as $17.50 for reserved seats, gives fans the best in FMX competition and a free concert of FILTER’s latest hits.
Known for his classic-rock melodies with an industrial hard rock sound, Patrick, together with a new FILTER line-up that includes John Spiker (also of Tenacious D), Mitchell Marlow (ex-He is Legend) and Mika Fineo (ex-Red Skeleton), returns to his indie roots with the group’s latest release - Anthems for the Damned - FILTER’s fourth record.
FILTER debuted in 1995 with “Short Bus”, their multi-platinum selling album that produced the Top Ten alternative hit, “Hey Man, Nice Shot.” The album that followed, “Title of Record”, featured “Take a Picture,” the band’s crossover pop hit that landed at #12 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The L.A. County Fair has hosted the LG World Championships of Freestyle Motocross and the event’s musical line-up for six consecutive years.
