Chicken veggie wraps won over the palates of judges at the Hidden Valley® Dressings “Fresh Taste for the Family” recipe contest Friday, Sept. 19 at the L.A. County Fair.
The contest was the local competition for Hidden Valley’s national contest. The top winner from the L.A. County Fair will go on to the national pool. The grand prize winner will be announced in January.
Taking first place at the Fair was April Burton of Rowland Heights with the chicken veggie wraps. Along with a blue ribbon and a shot at the grand prize, Burton received $200, a certificate and a Hidden Valley apron. Burton took second place in 2007.
Taking second place this year was Christopher Lopez of La Verne with Hidden meat loag. He received $100, a certificate and an apron.
In third place was Alberta Dunbar of San Diego with her sirloin tip roast stew with Hidden Valley noodles. She was awarded $50, a certificate and an apron.
The judges based their decision on all-family appeal, taste, appearance and ease of preparation.
