Barretts Equine Limited has embraced horses since it opened in 1990. Now it has expanded its functionality to embrace seasoned and fresh fans to the sport of horse racing with its newly inaugurated satellite wagering facility. Convenience is top of the line starting with free admission and parking for patrons. Amenities abound commencing with an impressive and completely renovated food service operation that features an abundant and tantalizing menu that sports appealing prices. Barretts is owned and operated by the Los Angeles County Fair Association. The state-of-the-art complex is the site of thoroughbred horse sales, most notably its March Sale of 2-year-old Thoroughbreds in Training. The theater, Hinds Pavilion and the adjoining restaurant can comfortably accommodate more than 700 patrons for its prestigious auctions and for satellite wagering. Santa Anita runs now through April 19, and Hollywood Park will be up and active April 22 through July 19. The L.A. County Fair hosts a live horse racing meet during the annual Fair, this year Sept. 10 to 28. The horses will be running at Fairplex Park, with the exception of Tuesdays when the track is dark, and Barretts will be open to accommodate satellite wagers concurrently. Comfortable, accessible and convenient, with scrumptious food, drinks and pari-mutuel windows a heartbeat away, the facility is located at Gate 12 on White Avenue, just south of Arrow Highway.
