MUSICANS, SPORTS CELEBS COMPETE AT LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL WINE COMPETITION
It’s not the Grammys or the Olympics, but we’re handing out gold awards just the same. Musicians- and sports celebrities-turned-vintners will battle it out for the finest vintage in two categories at the Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition May 19-21. Music Uncorked and Wine World of Sports return to the Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition. Professional wine judges from the competition will choose the best musically tinged and finest champion wines. Last year, legendary baseball manager Tommy Lasorda’s Pinot Grigio and metal band Tool’s lead singer Maynard James Keenan’s Caduceus Cellars’ Red Blends took the top prizes. The winners will be awarded June 19 at Wine & Cars Under the Stars at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum at Fairplex, in Pomona, CA. Get ready to rock and swirl for a hole-in-one. The Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits competition is celebrating its 71st year in 2010. With nearly 3,400 entries from around the world and 100 international judges, it is one of the largest and most prestigious competitions of its kind.
