The West Coast Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show returns to Fairplex in Pomona with more than 100 retail and wholesale vendors and their valuable wares in two buildings, Fairplex 7 and 9, May 14-16.
The show is California’s best opportunity for collectors and families to see mineral specimens, meteorites, petrified wood, fossils, beads, jewelry, gemstones, geodes, decorator pieces and other nature-related items, all on display and for sale. Exhibitors at the show are national and international including from India, China, Russia and Brazil. A number of authorities will offer presentations on a variety of diverse subjects such as Mineral of the Congo and Morocco, Paramelaconite from Bisbee, Arizona and Where Have all the Minerals Gone. There will also be gift items in stone and custom-made jewelry available. Lucky attendees will be eligible to win door prizes offered each hour and ranging from museum quality specimens to beginners’ bargains.
Several special exhibits will be part of the event including those by Martin Zinn, Joe Dorris, Rock Currier, Evan Jones, Superb Minerals, Bill Besse, Cal Graeber, Jeff Fast, Tom Wolfe and Scott Werschky.
Admission to the glittering event is $5 for adults, with one free admission with a paid parking. Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday and Saturday; and 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday.
