L.A. COUNTY FAIR, AMERICAN RED CROSS WANT YOUR BLOOD
Be a lifesaving hero and go to the Fair for free. The L.A. County Fair and the American Red Cross are partnering for the third year to sponsor two blood drives – Friday, Aug. 20 and Tuesday, Sept. 14. Give the gift of life by donating blood and receive one admission ticket to the Fair, good for any weekday of the Fair. The blood drives are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel. Free parking is available at the Sheraton. Donors can make an appointment by visiting the promotions page on the Fair website at www.lacountyfair.com or the American Red Cross donor site at www.givelife.org and entering the sponsor code fairmckinley. For guidelines on giving blood, visit the American Red Cross Web site at www.redcross.org. Donating is easy – it takes about an hour from start to finish, with the actual process being approximately 10 minutes. Donors will also receive a coupon for a free treat at Cold Stone Creamery and two complimentary VIP tickets to the Laugh Factory from the Red Cross.
