JURASSIC PLANET BRINGS DINOSAURS BACK TO LIFE AT THE L.A. COUNTY FAIR

The dinosaurs are back at the L.A. County Fair, and this time they want out! The government has turned the Fair into a Bio-Research Facility to care for these creatures from a lost world. But the dinos are fighting mad. Join all the fun at Jurassic Planet while learning interesting facts and exploring the interactive play during the Fair, Sept. 4 – Oct. 3.
Here is what you’ll find: a meteor crashes into the deepest jungle in Africa – and a land long lost is rediscovered. For 65 million years, the world thought that Earth’s most terrifying creatures were dead and buried and no longer a threat to civilization. But within this subterranean environment dwells a group of large animals believed to be extinct, terrifying beasts that have been living in secret for millions of years. And now, by exposing this hidden treasure to the world, dinosaurs have the opportunity to rule the world once again. In order to prevent this catastrophe, a secret government organization has been selected to capture these giant reptiles from this lost world. They transported them to a safe environment known as Jurassic Planet at the L.A. County Fair. This top secret bio-research facility has been set up to contain these predators while scientists investigate the mystery of how dinosaurs have been able to survive. But something has gone terribly wrong. There are some dinosaurs missing.
Although most of the animals, especially the docile vegetarians, are still secure within their enclosures, it has been determined that several of the more aggressive predators are missing. It is imperative that these menacing creatures are contained before they wreak havoc on the unsuspecting world. This is where you come in. Your mission is to find our missing agents and to locate the escaped predators. The fate of our existence rests in your hands. So, are you brave enough to join our mission and save the world?
As you wander through the building, be sure to keep your eyes and ears open at all times – you never know if a dinosaur is lurking around the bend! Learn all about Giganotosaurus, Dimetrodon, Saurolophus, Tyrannosaurus, Baryonyx, and many more of these fascinating creatures as you encounter them along your journey.
Have you ever met a real paleontologist? Well now’s your chance! Come see our stage show featuring our very own paleontologist. This is the place to ask questions. Learn to be a paleontologist as you uncover dinosaur bones from long ago in our new interactive area located just outside Jurassic Planet. Be a dinosaur detective as you watch our skilled paleontologists prepare real dinosaur fossils in our working prep lab. Head to camp in our new interactive area and learn how to make prehistoric art, design-a-dinosaur, guess the dinosaur and more.
The L.A. County Fair opens Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4 – 6 and then Wednesday – Sunday, Sept. 8 – Oct. 3, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Live thoroughbred horse racing at Fairplex Park will be Sept. 9 – Sept. 27, dark Mondays Sept. 13, 20 and Tuesdays.
