Customers attending fair could win energy-efficient appliances
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 1, 2011 – Southern California Gas Co. (SoCalGas) is offering a free promotion at this year’s L.A. County Fair in Pomona to help utility customers save natural gas and water. At SoCalGas’ fair booth, the utility will offer complimentary energy-efficiency starter kits to customers who bring a copy of their natural gas bill. The kits, which are limited to one per household, contain low-flow showerheads and faucet aerators for the home. These kits offer cost-effective ways to save water and help Southern California’s conservation efforts. Simple to install, the showerheads and aerators can reduce home water consumption by as much as 30 percent, while still providing the feeling of full water flow. The kits also reduce the energy associated with water heating. SoCalGas’ booth at the L.A. County Fair will be located at the south end of Building 4. SoCalGas also will hold drawings for two customers to receive a new energy-efficient clothes washer and dryer set, and a dishwasher. Fairgoers also can find out more information about the Energy Upgrade CA program, appliance rebates, going paperless, natural gas vehicles, solar technology, and simple ways to make their home more efficient.
