POMONA, CA – Getting in the holiday spirit is easy at the Harvest Festival® Original Art & Craft Show, December 2-4, 2011 in Pomona at the LA County Fairplex when hundreds of artists and craftmasters from across America come together to provide the ultimate weekend “shoppertunity” and entertainment experience that comes around at the perfect time of the year.
Boasting an array of more than 24,000 unique handmade items at affordable prices, the west coast’s largest and finest indoor craft show features more than 200 exhibitors, live entertainment, strolling performers, a kids zone, tantalizing specialty foods, and more. Patrons who bring canned goods for donation to Inland Valley Hope Partners or an unwrapped toy for donation to Toys For Tots will receive a $2 discount on admission. Steven’s Hope for Children hosts the parcel/bag check fundraising while dA Center for the Arts serves up interactive “make & take” fun for youngsters. Free ID screening is offered courtesy of Kids Are 1st.
The Christmastime atmosphere makes exploring the hundreds of exhibits an exciting discovery of gift ideas from ceramics, paintings, jewelry, blown glass, hand woven clothing, photography, candles, woodwork, garden designs, specialty foods, antique treasures, children’s accessories, sculptures, ornaments, and more. Patrons appreciate the opportunity to interact with the artists, get items personalized for loved ones, or even learn some helpful tips through crafting demonstrations.
“Each item in our juried showcase is a handcrafted original, so you just won’t find it anywhere else,” says Nancy Glenn, Harvest Festival Show Manager. “We pride ourselves in generating an excitement for the holidays that begins with a warm greeting from the ‘Good Time Carolers’”.
There’s something captivating for everyone, from special performances by the “Ann Marita Duo” and the outrageous “Scotty & Trink Jugglers,” to strolling entertainers such as “Mama Claus & Goofy the Elf,” “Derek the Mime,” the “Fables of the West,” and the “Stilt Elf.” Patrons can also enter to win a grand prize drawing for beautiful handmade Americana quilt.
What began in the 70s as a fun and creative way to showcase top artists and craftspeople, today’s Harvest Festival® Original Art & Craft Show has received numerous awards while setting an industry standard for its tradition of uncompromising presentation.
