International Sportmen’s Expositions will kick off its 2003 season at Fairplex in Pomona on Jan. 9-12. Whether your interest is fishing, hiking or camping, ISE offers demonstrations, information and sales opportunities for all outdoor sports and hobbies.
ISE’s destination travel, fishing, sport shooting and camping consumer events have set the industry standard for more than a quarter century, dominating the largest outdoor markets throughout the western United States.
Back for its second year at Fairplex, ISE will offer a great program with special guests and an expanded youth fair. Hours for the show are noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $9. Children 12 and younger are free.
Visitors to this unique event can shop for products and services from more than 275 companies, including lodges, resorts, guides and outfitters from Alaska, Canada, Mexico, South Africa, New Zealand, as well as the Rocky Mountain area and western United States.
Retailers will spotlight huge selections of new and specially priced fishing, fly-fishing, camping and hunting-accessory products.
The event will also showcase some of the west’s finest wildlife paintings, sculpture, photography, taxidermy and log furniture. Also on display will be pop-up camp trailers.
Special events and exhibits include Ultimate Campsite, Best-of-the-West Fly-Casting contest, Cooking Theater, Eastmans’ Hunting Journal Trophy Deer Display and more. Celebrity guests include best-selling author and California camping guru Tom Stienstra; western hunt authority Mike Eastman; saltwater fishing expert Steve Carson; and world champion elk caller Chad Schearer. On the weekend visit with Dez Young, host of Outdoor Life Network’s Hunting with Hank.
This year ISE will offer an expanded Outdoor Sports Youth Fair. It will include a catch-and-release fish pond among a number of hands-on stations for children. Kids can visit the Safari Club International Sensory Safari which houses mounted animals from Africa and around the world.
