Pull on the cowboy boots and get out the Stetson. Fairplex is going country.
The 2003 Round Up Country Music Festival and $25,000 Country Dance Challenge will fill up the infield at Fairplex Park on Sunday, May 4. The festival is the showcase for the Rockin’ Roadhouse Tour featuring music greats Mark Chesnutt, Joe Diffie and Tracy Lawrence.
The festival is a daylong party full of live country music, competitive country western dancing, the famous “Round Up” mechanical bull, world-class cooking and a vendor exhibition area full of giveaways, contests, product demonstrations and entertainment.
The fun runs from noon to 9 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at www.roundup2003.com or at any ticketmaster location. Tickets are $35.
The country-dance challenge is the culmination of an eight-week search for the best dancers in Southern California. Semi-finalists will battle it out live at Round Up in three categories: open line dance, two-step and swing.
