The L.A. County Fair Wines of the World competition has announced a special promotion with Ralphs Grocery Stores to create in-store displays of the competition’s gold medal-winning wines. “Ralphs has long been a strong supporter of the L.A. County Fair,” said Dr. Robert Small, wine competition chairman for the L.A. County Fair. “We are delighted that they recognize the impact our competition has in the marketplace.”
“In all participating Ralphs Grocery Stores, they will create a special display for wines that win gold medals at the L.A. County Fair Wines of the World competition,” said Small. “While Ralphs cannot hope to stock all of these wines, the wines they do carry will be positioned front and center, where all of Southern California shops for food and wine. It will be a tremendous opportunity for the award-winning wines to take center stage with our consumers in this important market.”
A true community event, the L.A. County Fair brings together the best of California for the residents of Los Angeles County and beyond. It is among the largest wine competitions in the world. The panel of judges is impressive, with nationally known journalists, Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers, and key members of the wine trade—both on-premise and off-premise. Each year the competition attracts a number of judges from overseas.
The competition will take place May 14-16 at Fairplex. The public will be able to taste the award-winning wines at the 2003 L.A. County Fair September 12-28. For more information about the L.A. County Wines of the World competition, visit the Web site at http://www.fairplex.com/wine2003/index.asp.
