The Los Angeles County Fair Association has named two new members to serve as association members, effective immediately. The newest members joining the association are Laura Bollinger of Claremont and La Verne resident Don Kendrick. The Association consists of no more than 50 active members, including an 11-member board of directors. New association members are elected to the board based on their outstanding contributions to the community. Reginald Webb, board member and chairman of the Los Angeles County Fair Association nominating committee, welcomes the new association members. “We are excited about the diversity and talent these individuals bring to the Los Angeles County Fair Association,” said Webb, a Los Angeles County Fair Association member since 1977 and a board member since 1990. Webb plays an active role within the community as the owner/operator of 11 McDonald’s Restaurants and contributes time and energy to several organizations. “The community ties will be strengthened by the new members’ contributions and help us in our ongoing efforts to be a good neighbor. ” Bollinger is an active volunteer within Claremont, involved with a number of organizations including the Curtain Raiser’s board, Claremont League of Women Voters, Claremont Community Foundation and Mt. Baldy Aquatics, having served as president. She was a member of 4-H as a child and actually showed bantam chickens and laying hens at the L.A. County Fair. She said she still has her blue ribbons. She and her husband Bo have three children and reside in Claremont. Don Kendrick joins the association and brings experience with the La Verne Planning Commission and an involvement with the La Verne SOLVE/Historical Society, an organization he has had a 15-year affiliation with including as past president for 3 years. He is on the La Verne Youth and Family Action Committee and founder and president of the Hands-On History grade school program with the Bonita Unified School District. He is the owner of Don Kendrick Real Estate in La Verne. He and his wife Gaynel have one daughter and are residents of La Verne.
