The race was on as the Parent-Child Tablescaping Challenge took place on Sept. 18 at the 2003 L.A. County Fair. Teams comprised of a parent and a child between the ages of 8 and 15 years old were given a themed box of supplies and twenty minutes to create the best tablescaping. This was the second year the Fair offered this contest.
Entries were judged on correctness, creativity and theme.
The first place winners in the Parent-Child Tablescaping Challenge went to Eileen King and her daughter Natalie King, 10, of Redondo Beach. Pictured with Eileen and Natalie is contest judge Maura Graber. Second place went to Kigoko Tatsui and her daughter Elizabeth Harris, 9, of Glendale. Pictured with Kigoko and Elizabeth is contest judge Maura Graber. Third place went to Nelda and Anthony Rosati, 10, of Covina. Winners were awarded ribbons and an award presented by the R.S.V.P. Institute.
