For Immediate Release
LIMITED PRODUCTION WINES TO BE JUDGED AT L.A. COUNTY FAIR WINE COMPETITION

Smaller wineries and wineries with smaller production quantities will again have the opportunity to compete for top honors at the L.A. County Fair’s Wines of the World competition, scheduled for May 12-14 at Fairplex in Pomona.
The wine competition will include a special competition for limited production wines. Recognizing prestigious wines produced in smaller quantities, the competition is open to all wines in select classes with production levels of less than 2,500 cases.
A panel of judges will award best of class, gold, silver and bronze medal awards, as well as the best limited production wine of the competition.
Limited production wines will be judged in Sparkling Wine, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, White Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Red Meritage, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Rhone Varietal/Blend, Italian Varietal/Blend and Dessert Wine classes.
Wineries are required to submit two bottles per entry, as compared to six for the regular competition. A wine may be entered in both the limited production and regular Wines of the World competitions. For more information about Wines of the World, please contact the L.A. County Fair’s wine department at (909) 865-4231 or visit the Web site at www.fairplex.com.
