Entries for the Mini Swine Showmanship and Thummer’s Costume Contest at the 2002 LA. County Fair at Fairplex in Pomona are due by Aug. 31. The Fair runs Sept. 13-29.
There are no entry fees for these divisions. To enter the Mini-Swine Showmanship class, sponsored by O.H. Kruse Grain and Milling, exhibitors must be between the ages of 5-8. Judging will take place at 6 p.m. Sept. 20 in Ring 3. All participants will receive a trophy. To enter Thummer’s Costume Contest, a special entry form is needed. Anyone between the ages of 5-21 may enter. Judging will take place at 6 p.m. on Sept. 21 in Ring 3. First through sixth place will be awarded a rosette and first place will be awarded a trophy. There will also be special awards for the Most Unusual Costume and Most Original Costume.
