Knowing the importance of modern-day heroes and community pride, the L.A. County Fair will recognize what’s right in local communities during the 80th anniversary of the Fair, Sept. 13-29. Weekdays beginning Sept. 13, local heroes, dignitaries and city officials will be honored during “Community Day” celebrations.
Each community will have a parade in its honor, winding its way from Orange gate to The Stage in Park Square. High school bands, local youth talent and Fair entertainment will march along the parade route along with city dignitaries, community clubs and the local hero, escorted by the historical Fairplex fire truck. A race at Fairplex Park will be run in honor of the celebrated city.
Nominations are being accepted for community heroes. Nominations should include the hero’s name, address and telephone number and the reason why he or she is being nominated. The person nominating the hero must also include their name, address and telephone number. There will be a special presentation for the hero at The Stage in Park Square. Each hero will receive a special award from the L.A. County Fair and Community Days partners the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin and the San Gabriel Valley Tribune. The deadline for nominations is
