Hoy, one of the nation’s fastest growing Spanish-language daily newspapers, and the L.A. County Fair, the largest county fair in the nation, will combine efforts to promote the upcoming Fair and its strong traditional and family ties to a huge southern California audience. The newspaper made its debut on March 1 and provides local news specific to Hispanics by printing 4 separate editions: Los Angeles, Orange County/Long Beach, San Gabriel/Inland Empire and San Fernando Valley. Hoy in L.A. joins established publications in New York and Chicago. Hoy is published by Tribune Company, one of the country’s premier media companies. Hoy reaches Hispanic readers looking for information in current local and national news, sports, entertainment, restaurants, events, music, TV and movies. The L.A. County Fair, a mainstay in southern California since 1922, has strong ties with Hispanic audiences and looks forward to a relationship with Hoy, a publication that can effectively help to deliver the Fair’s message. Dale Coleman, Fairplex vice president of sales, marketing and creative programming said, “The L.A. County Fair is the largest county fair in the world, we are located in the entertainment capital of the world in a region with the largest Hispanic population in the United States. It makes sense that we would join forces with Tribune Company, one of the worlds top media companies. Our partnership with Hoy will allow us to better serve this important emerging customer base. We look forward to a close working relationship with Hoy for many years to come.” A special section dedicated to the L.A. County Fair will be published in the Sept. 10 issue of Hoy. Hoy is co-presenting sponsor of the newly renovated Plaza de las Américas, a longtime Fair favorite cultural marketplace that features foods, entertainment and shopping. Juan Arango, Hoy senior vice president editorial and general manager for Los Angeles said, “Hoy is truly honored to be a part of the L.A. County Fair. We look forward to creating this special section which will educate Spanish dominant Hispanics on the rich traditions and exciting activities offered at the L.A.
