Chinese acrobats train for years while attending rigorous performing arts schools, demonstrating a remarkable amount of commitment and discipline. The hard work is not without its rewards, as again and again performances end with standing ovations.
The Stars of the Peking Acrobats will perform daily at the L.A. County Fair, Sept. 10-26. The performances, in Fairplex 4, are free with Fair admission.
The group is a smaller unit of the larger, world-renowned Peking Acrobats, which is a major touring attraction. The size of the group allows them the mobility to perform at fairs, festivals, theme parks and corporate events.
The production is directed by the Hai family, a leader in Chinese acrobats for generations. Shows feature spectacular acrobatic stunts, balancing and dancing. Performers begin formal training at the age of 4 or 5, practicing four hours a day. They attend schools in Asia in dance, Chinese opera, acrobatics, and by their teenage years have soundly developed their abilities.
The Stars of the Peking Acrobats have been applauded by critics and assure an amazing show. For general information on the L.A. County Fair, call (909) 623-3111 or visit the Web site at www.lacountyfair.com.
