For Immediate Release
L.A. COUNTY FAIR COMMUNITY DAYS HONOR LOCAL CITIES

Every city is special in some way, whether it’s the equestrians of San Dimas or the bustling college community of Claremont. It is the unique aspects of cities that the L.A. County Fair will salute during Community Days.  Eighteen local cities will be honored every weekday of the Fair, Sept. 10-26.
Community leaders will be invited to the Fair to enjoy a day of activities.  The fun begins with a horse race named in honor of a chosen city, followed by a parade and the community heroes’ celebration at The Stage in Park Square.
Community Day parades will feature various city organizations and groups from high school marching bands to floats, police and fire departments, city dignitaries, mascots and classic car clubs. Entries for the parades will be received up until opening day of the Fair, Sept. 10, but space is limited.
The Fair and local newspapers will recognize community heroes as part of the Community Day celebrations. Community heroes are nominated from each respective city. Entry forms can be picked up at Fairplex, Inland Valley Daily Bulletin or the appropriate city hall. A committee made up of past heroes and staff from the Fair, Daily Bulletin, and the San Gabriel Valley Tribune review all nominations.  Nominations should be submitted no later than Aug. 6, to:
