The L.A. County Fair received awards from the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE) during its recently concluded annual convention held in Las Vegas.
The awards are in recognition of various programming elements during the 2004 L.A. County Fair held in September.
The L.A. County Fair garnered top honors, among member fairs and festivals with attendance of more than one million, for outstanding agricultural program, radio spot, web site and ad specialties, merchandise and souvenirs.
Fairplex vice president of sales, marketing and creative programming Dale Coleman said, “We’re very pleased to be recognized by IAFE, an international organization representing fairs and festivals. A lot of dedication, creativity and labor by staff and volunteers go into putting on an event of this size and scope; it’s an honor to have that celebrated.”
Dates for the 2005 L.A. County Fair are Sept. 9-Oct. 2. New formatting includes an 18-day Fair with Mondays and Tuesdays dark days. Horse racing will run for 17-days, Sept. 9-25. Visit the Web site at www.fairplex.com.
