As part of a long-standing tradition of joint efforts to improve the health and well being of the local community, Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center and Inter Valley Health Plan are joining forces once again and will present a free “Celebrating Senior Vitality: A Health and Wellness Fair” on Friday, April 8 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, April 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event, held at Fairplex in Building 5, will coincide with the Spring Home and Garden Show, also at the Fairgrounds in Buildings 4 and 6.
The event, co-sponsored by Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Novartis, Option One Home Medical Equipment, Walgreens, GlaxoSmithKline and Diabetes Self Care, will feature up to 100 exhibitors, as well as entertainment for attendees. Free health screenings – including bone density, cholesterol, blood pressure and stroke and heart disease – will be provided for attendees aged 55 years and above, by members of PVHMC’s staff, as well as resources for seniors and wellness lectures on cardiac care, cancer and preventative medicine. Entertainment during the event will include PVHMC’s own Clifford the Clown and the Montclair Choral Group on Friday, and the Canzoneri Sing and Dance Team on both Friday and Saturday.
