HORSE SHOWS AND DEMONSTARTIONS TO BE HELD AT 2002 L.A. COUNTY FAIR
Horses will abound during the 2002 L.A. County Fair at Fairplex in Pomona.The Cavalcade of Horses will feature a variety of horse shows and demonstrations that are sure to please.The Fair runs Sept. 13-29.
The following shows are scheduled to take place during the Cavalcade of Horses:
Medallion Classic Memorial Pinto & Appaloosa Horse Show on Sept. 13 and 14 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. and on Sept. 15 at 1 p.m.
The Saddlebred Futurity show will take place on Sept. 19-22.Showtimes are 7 p.m. on Sept. 19, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Sept. 20 and Sept. 21 and 1 p.m. on Sept. 22.This annual horse show, in its 58th year, will feature American Saddlebred horses.
The 4-H Show will take place on Sept. 23 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.Put on by Southern California 4-H, this annual event will feature a horse show presented by youngsters in 4-H clubs.
The Fair’s own International Draft, Mule & Pleasure Driving Show 2002 will take place Sept. 25-29 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.This competitive show will bring out large draft horses, mules and pleasure driving horses, which range in size from miniature to large, pulling carts and carriages.
In addition to its four shows the Cavalcade of Horses will also feature demonstrations.They are as follows:
The California Mounted Desperados will perform Sept. 17, Sept. 18 and Sept. 22 at 7 p.m.This fast paced Wild West show will feature a riding-shooting event that is run against the clock.Combining the elements of barrel racing, cutting and pole bending, this event features cowboys shooting two six-guns at outlaw balloon targets.
Vaulting Demos will take place on Sept. 17 and 18 at 7 p.m.
