Punk, emo, thrash, ska and a whole lot more will be heard throughout the L.A. County Fair Thursdays as college bands rock out in a competition created for music lovers.
With the Fair dedicating Thursday nights to college students, the bands will perform in front of their peers and Fairguests as they riff on their guitars and rock out on stage. With a trophy at stake along with other prizes, the preliminaries on Sept. 15 are sure to be intense as all aim to make it to the second round on Sept. 22. Final performances will be held on Sept. 29 where the winners will receive their prizes.
In order to participate performers must submit an application along with demo tapes, a band list, sample list of songs, lyrics and stage plot by June 15 to the Fair’s entertainment department. Bands must consist of more than three people and at least two of the members must attend college. The performances will take place on the Budweiser True Music Stage where they will display their talent for a 30 minute time slot. Winners will be judged on stage presence, vocal and instrumental quality, originality and most importantly fan reaction, so support your favorite performers.
