Southern California Indian Center, Inc. (SCIC) will host its 37th Annual Pow Wow on July 29-31 at the Los Angeles County Fairplex in Pomona. The Pow Wow is a three-day event featuring traditional American Indian singing, dancing, art, silverwork, pottery, rare collectibles, dance contests and American Indian foods. American Indian dancers representing 300+ tribes/nations will gather for this Intertribal Pow Wow. Share the American Indian inter-tribal cultures that provide a rich view of Native heritage, as well as a setting for artistic traditions to be learned, valued, and preserved. Dances, songs, and art as old as the tribal culture itself will be featured. This is the largest Pow Wow and American Indian Arts and Crafts show on the West Coast. Southern California is host to the largest concentration of off-reservation American Indians (220,000), representing almost every tribe in the United States.
On July 30 & 31, the Intertribal Children Circle will have storytellers and hands on crafts for all children. On Saturday, July 30, SCIC will Recognize Indian Veterans. We invite the general public to come and share our rich culture. Adults-$7.00; Seniors and teens 13-17 years $4.00; children 6-12; $2.00 and children 5 and under are free; parking is $6-$15.
