Lace up your hiking boots and head for Camp Smokey at the L.A. County Fair and hike, trek and explore the majestic trails of the outdoors. The Fair runs Sept. 9 – Oct. 2, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Live thoroughbred horse racing returns Sept. 9 – 26, closed Tuesdays only.
Camp Smokey invites adults and kids to venture outside and take to the trails of Camp Smokey to discover woodland creatures, chirping birds and crickets in the backdrop of a real forest. Trekkers will acquire survival skills, tips on preserving forests, advice on saving the environment and much more.
Before the journey begins, Fairguests are welcomed at the information desk by friendly rangers who will provide information regarding the adventure. Explorers will hike under towering trees and through winding trails. Hikers will visit a real lookout tower, and can take home a pine tree. Explorers are urged to keep their eyes open for Smokey Bear hiding in the foliage.
