For Immediate Release
THUMMER AND PALS WELCOME FAIRGUESTS

Blaze the frisky racehorse will barrel out of the chute in September as the L.A. County Fair’s newest costumed character. Popular mascot Thummer and friends cannot wait to introduce their new buddy to Fairguests. The Fair runs Sept. 9 – Oct. 2, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Live thoroughbred horse racing returns Sept. 9-26, closed Tuesdays only.

Last year Lily, a lovable lamb, joined the group of costumed characters and the previous year it was a cream-of-the-crop cow named Daisy. The two will help the new member settle in. Deemed the fastest racehorse in The Big Red Barn, Blaze will be welcomed with open arms. The whole posse will be on site to shake hooves with Fairguests and pose for pictures.

For those Fairguests who would like to spend quality time with the costumed characters, the Fair offers a luncheon where kids and adults can join Thummer, Daisy, Lily and Blaze for a bite to eat. Held every Saturday and Sunday of the Fair at Avalon, the event allows visitors to mingle with the characters as well as participate in games and activities. Check the Fair program for details.

Join the fun! For more information regarding the Fair, visit www.lacountyfair.com or call (909) 623-3111.
