THUNDER ALLEY CRUISES INTO THE L.A. COUNTY FAIR

Cruising is back in fashion at the L.A. County Fair as Thunder Alley presents Cruise Nights Wednesdays through Fridays featuring music, food and a look into the past. The Fair runs Sept. 9 – Oct. 2, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Live thoroughbred horse racing returns Sept. 9-26, closed Tuesdays only.

Reminiscent of the days when Fridays were meant for cruising the boulevard with the windows down and music blaring, Thunder Alley reconstructs the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s. “Sounds from the Road” can be heard coming from The Vintage Garage Stage, setting the tone for the evening.

The alley revs into action after dark. Some of the finest street rods that were seen during the day coasting in the Fair Community Days parades will be parked on Thunder Alley ready to be checked out by Fairguests. More than 20 classic vehicles, dating to 1970 and older, will be on exhibit throughout each night for car enthusiasts to leisurely inspect. To get the party started, a live DJ will spin records.

Thunder Alley is between Fairplex 4 and the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum.
