Free samples and a plethora of items will be displayed at the Ralphs Street Fair on Sunday, Sept. 11, at the L.A. County Fair. Fairguests can shop to their hearts content as vendors line the streets. The Fair runs Sept. 9 Oct. 2, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Live thoroughbred horse racing returns Sept. 9 26, closed Tuesdays only. The street fair is sponsored by Ralphs grocery store.
Items will be distributed to visitors as they walk from vendor to vendor at what is known as a mini fair within the Fair. The street fair will be on Pepper Street in the Shopping Place neighborhood. Giveaway items in the past have included soda, chips, salsa, Tylenol, margarine, ice cream, rice, detergent, shampoo, T-shirts and pencils and erasers.
In addition to sponsoring the much-anticipated street fair, Ralphs sponsors The Vineyard Marketplace, Barnyard Racers Pig Races and the Ralphs junior market.
The Vineyard Marketplace, amid cafes and shopping, will teach Fairguests how to appreciate wine through fun and educational wine tasting and olive oil sampling classes.
Barnyard Racers Pig Races is squealing fun as spectators cheer for their favorite oinker as they zoom down Pepper Street kicking up mud as they race toward their goal an Oreo cookie.
At the Ralphs junior market, kids are issued mini shopping carts. They can zoom through aisles shopping for nutritious snacks. Located across from The Big Red Barn at FairView Farms, the exhibit helps educate kids on the importance of eating healthy.
