Fairplex announces two new management staff additions, both effective August 1.
Fairplex welcomes Daniel Danzig as the new executive director of the prestigious Millard Sheets Gallery. Danzig, a Pasadena resident, is the former manager with the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. He has a strong background in arts administration, including directing galleries and programs, curating and producing exhibitions, budgeting, fund raising, and supervising personnel and projects.
Danzig’s career began in the late 1970s as a gallery intern and artist’s assistant while attending the School of Visual Arts in New York. In 1984, he founded his own contemporary art gallery in New Jersey. He has a bachelor of arts degree from University of Alabama and a master of arts from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago.
Eron Jacobson assumed the position of Fairplex director of sales. He will be responsible for revenues related to year-round facility rental, corporate sponsorship, commercial sales, and group and advance sales. Fairplex is a 543-acre entertainment and events destination with more than 300 events a year, including its signature event, the annual L.A. County Fair.
Jacobson was formerly with De La Rue Cash Systems Inc. based in Chicago, Ill., where he was executive account manager. Prior to that he was a division sales manager with Technology Unlimited, located in Glendale, Calif. While there he opened and directed a new Inland Empire branch office.
Jacobson has a bachelor of arts degree in communications and theatre from Concordia University in Irvine, Calif. He resides in Ontario with his wife, Amy and son, Evan.
