Mike Driebe, a familiar name and active community supporter has become the newest member of the Los Angeles County Fair Association.
Los Angeles County Fair Association chairman of the board Steve Morgan, said of the appointment, “ We’re honored to have Mike join the association. His presence in the community has been significant and we look forward to having his input and participation.”
Driebe, a resident of Pomona is the vice president for development at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center. He is responsible for foundation fund raising campaigns, grant writing and raising money for program development.
No stranger to service organizations, Driebe is on the board of Inland Valley/Orange County Unit of Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic, a member of the national board of directors and governors for St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital. He also serves on the Pomona General Plan Citizens Advisory Committee, having served as immediate past presidents of Pomona Rotary and Pomona Chamber of Commerce. He has twice been awarded the Pomona Chamber’s Presidents’ Award and Pomona Jaycees’ Distinguised Service Award. He was also the recipient of the California Jaycee’s Outstanding Young Californian award.
Driebe earned a bachelor of science degree in business management from the University of Phoenix, and a master’s degree in leadership and management from University of La Verne. He is currently entered in the doctorate program in organizational leadership at University of La Verne.
Driebe has resided in California since 1980, and has been an active resident, a tradition he plans to continue. Driebe said, “I am very excited to be joining the Los Angeles County Fair Association. It’s an honor and a privilege and I look forward to making significant contributions to the Fair and to Fairplex.” He and his wife, Sylvia, reside in Pomona.
