KC & The Sunshine Band, along with The Village People, will bring down the house at this year’s L.A. County Fair as they rock the stage during the End of Summer Concert Series, presented by Toyota, on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 8 p.m.
Widely known for their hits of the ‘70s like “Get Down Tonight” and “That’s The Way (I Like It),” KC & The Sunshine Band have continued to hit the concert stage. The end of the ‘70s also meant the end of disco, with this downfall many thought that KC and The Sunshine Band were at their musical end. However the music lives on, popping up in commercials for major American corporations. Their music also appeared in movies from Forrest Gump to Space Jam, Boogie Nights to The Nutty Professor.
In 1991, fans who so eagerly awaited the return of the group waited no longer as KC finally returned to the stage and started touring with a new entourage. He performed at the 1999 Super bowl and has continued touring ever since.
The Village People have also been around the music scene for more than two decades. They will be celebrating 28 years of performing dance music, while providing outrageous fun and entertainment. They will perform their biggest hits, which include the songs “YMCA,” “In The Navy,” “Go West,” and “Can’t Stop The Music.” So come welcome and cheer on the construction worker, the cop, the Indian, the cowboy and the biker.
General admission to see KC & The Sunshine Band and The Village People at the 2005 L.A. County Fair is free with regular Fair admission; however, special reserved seating is available for purchase for $17.50. Box seating is $20 and stageside seating is available for $75.
