The finals for the inaugural L.A. County Fair Chefs on the Rise competition will be held this weekend. Preliminaries were held in May, in conjunction with the Wines of the World and Olive Oils of the World competitions. The competition spotlights the best and brightest chefs in Southern California.
When: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Awards ceremony is 7 p.m. Sunday
Where: ConAgra Foods Gourmet Kitchen in The Village on Broadway

- Patrick Browne, Lasher’s Restaurant, Long Beach
- Gregory Paul, L’Orangerie Restaurant, Los Angeles
- Robert Harrison, Cezanne Restaurant, Santa Monica
- Jennifer Shen, Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch, Pomona
