The West Coast Sports Collectors Expo is coming to Fairplex for the first time, and it has some of the biggest names in sports coming with it, including Cy Young winner and former L.A. Dodger great Orel Hersheiser, who is making his first Southern California sports show appearance in almost 20 years. Other greats include Frank Robinson, Dick Butkus and Lawrence Taylor, making his first appearance.
The Expo is scheduled for Dec. 9 – 11. Hours are 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $8, with children 8 and younger free. A multi-day pass is $12. The Expo will have top vendors from more than 20 states buying, selling and trading. Items include vintage and modern sports cards, memorabilia, figurines and collectibles.
Also scheduled to appear for autograph sessions are Bob Gibson, Eddie Murray, Bert Blyleven, Tom Seaver and Harmon Killebrew. Fans can also see Ken Landreaux, Darrel Thomas, Lee Lacy and Rudy Law. Some fees are charged for autographs but there will be plenty of free autographs.
