Over 350 Custom Street Rods Compete For Coveted "America's Most Beautiful" Trophy At Grand National Roadster Show Opening Jan 20
Over 350 of the country's finest street rods and custom motorcycles compete for the coveted America's Most Beautiful Roadster and Motorcycle awards at America's oldest running indoor hot rod show, the 57th annual Grand National Roadster Show, opening Friday, Jan 20 thru 22 at Fairplex in Pomona.
Among top contenders for the AMBR 9 foot trophy and $5000 cash prize is "Impression" designed by Chip Foose of TLC's "Overhaulin" and builder Ken Reister. Forty craftsmen spent six years and over 14,000 man hours creating a new level of coach work and never-before seen details that helped form the character of the vehicle. Winner of the most beautiful motorcycle trophy receives a $3000 cash prize.
Special displays include last year's AMBR winner, "Seduced, " a l932 Ford Roadster owned by Paul and Erick Hansen of Pleasanton, CA and "Frantic 4A/Fuel Dragster, one of only 40 restored functional fuel burning engine dragsters circa l962 in the country, which are illegal to race because of their age.
The roadsters and custom motorcycles on display represent thousands of man-hours by owners, families and friends with a passion for design and devotion for detail that has taken their hobby to another level.
Weekend features include a display of 1970 muscle cars on Saturday and appearances by Chip Foose, The Big Schwag of Discovery Channel's "Monster Garage," and American Graffiti movie classic stars Candy Clark and Bo Hopkins.
